Trust

To me this is one of the scariest words...

Once you have been burned a few times, this is very hard to do.

Someone looks at you and asks you to rely on them. Trust them...

Trust must be earned, the same way respect is.

I have a hard time trusting people. There comes a time though, when a person in your life wants you to trust them. They want to earn it....

To trust or not to trust...that is the question.

Yes, trust does have to be earned. I'm slow to trust people too. But, slowly but surely it can be earned if both people are trying.

Or you could say "dude, I'm giving you limited trust in this area with the potential for real trust if you don't mess things up, but if you betray me I'm going postal on your ass!" *wink*

Really..... yeah, esp. now one takes one's life into their own hands if they just trust everybody. Trust must be earned. It's not something to be given lightly now, if it ever was.

I'm with you, I think that for the most part trust should be earned.

Granted when I meet someone there is a certain level of trust there but it grows or fades depending on what happens.

You know BD, I know exactly what you are talking about here. My ex-hubby really destroyed my trust in anyone for a very long time. Then I met Blu and that all changed... :)

My only advice is use some caution but follow your heart because it usually won't lead you astray...

True you can't just go around trusting everybody, but you have to trust somebody sometime. Mistrust is like hate... it eats you up inside.

Ah, sweetie, this is a hard one....we all get a little squintier eyed as we get older, but still....I give you this, Trust....until you're told otherwise...and listen very carefully....

I try to give everyone I meet the benefit of the doubt. If people feel that you really do trust them, they usually are in turn trustworthy.

I agree with lone beader... I tend to trust and take people at face value... I havent been burned many times... really just once and it was by my sister in law... sadly!

Anyway, I think you should trust on a case by case basis. =]

Oh Barb. How I so know where you are here. I think I trust min to min. I may trust you at this very sec, but don't get comfy, because I can promise that I won't trust you five min from now. Trust I don't know if that's what I can do. Faith in someone seems to come easier.

That IS the question...but, oh, the wonderful things you learn about yourself in the process....

I don't trust anyone as far as I can throw them(which actually can be far depending on my mood) not even my parents.....But it can be earned to an extent and to each his own and good luck with that. Trust is simply a variable in an equation of love that consist of not only the subject at hand but also respect and honesty and most of all, honor...

I have big trust issues because once it seems I let someone close, they burn me badly. On the other hand, how can you live without opening yourself up a bit? I think there is a huge difference between people who make mistakes that harm your trust and those who deliberately violate it. We have to show the wisdom to see the difference. But when you are in emotional pain, it is easy to lump them into one basket of despair.

That is the question--the answer is as different as there are people in the world.

Be careful, but don't close up, since you might miss out on the one.

That one!

Peace out.

One word: Caution. That's how I deal with most folks.

I don't care how many times I get battered, I will always trust someone untill the give me reason not to. The other option is to live your life in fear, and perhaps miss out on a lot of joy. You are far too beautiful a person to allow that to happen to you!

Go for it!

Me keeps on trusting and getting burned. So what? The pain lets me know that me be alive and every once in a while Me gets a magnificent return on the investment. Cutting yerself off from people don' keep ya safe. You only start to lose trust in yerself.

Care, love, share, give . . . but don't trust.

Hi Bardouble ~ I hope you're okay. You've been pretty quiet lately too.

I’ve been working more and more on the development of my “professional” photography business, trying to learn the technical stuff I should know, developing a line of postcards and greeting cards, and trying to get organized. As a result, blogging has been on the back burner.

I think of you, now and then sneak a quick look at your blog and what’s happening in your life, but for the most part I haven’t been doing a lot of reading or commenting. It’s probably time for me to take a break and come back when I can spend reasonable time visiting as well as writing.

Thank you for sharing glimpses of your life with me, have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday, and I hope to “see you” soon!
