Let The Wild Run

When I was in High School I was in track. I was a sprinter. I used to run, and run and run....I loved the freedom I felt. I loved to just let everything go...feeling the wind, thinking of nothing but the goal.

I used to feel the same when I climbed on a beautiful horse. Tuck down, hold on and let 'em run. Horse and rider meld as one, reading their body, knowing their every move...It is like a love relationship, the two must move as one. There is deep beauty in their wildness, it is a raw passion.

Right now I feel burnt out. I want to feel some freedom. I want to run, I want to feel the wind in my hair. I am tired of the same routine....work all week, eat, sleep, do the laundry...start all over again.

I need a night to let it all hang out. I also am passionate about dancing. I love to dance. Any type: swing, ballroom, line dancing, two step, cha-cha, or just moving to a rock-n-roll beat. For me a night out is not even about drinking (of course I like to have a few)...I would rather dance than to get drunk (hard to dance when you are sloshed.)

It is Sunday evening, I don't feel like I had much of a weekend. Saturday I did demo in a nasty old house. My knuckles look like I took on a bully, but it is from ripping up old lino from a kitchen. Then we laid a beautiful new epoxy aggregate floor. Today was about laundry, grocery shopping, and house cleaning....

Geez, I hate it when I sound like "oh poor me" but that is how I feel right now.....

I have to drink if I'm going to dance. Okay, I have to drink A LOT if I'm going to dance. haha

Maybe if you could squeeze out a three day weekend sometime. Or get up early one day and just get out of town and go somewhere for they day. That's always a good way to recharge a bit.

Jay - that sounds like a great idea. Many people I know need "several" drinks to dance. Recharging the 'ole batteries is next on my to do list.

I only run when chased. And then it depends on who's chasing me. Usually I just walk fast.

LOL..thanks! Walking fast works for me too.

Oh jeez, i can't dance worth a darn either sober or drunk. When i want to recharge, a change of scenery usually helps. I love to drive to the beach and have dinner on the pier. Or i might go camping. Or visit a relative or friend for a weekend. Or just drive somewhere i've never been before... which i often do spontaneously because i get lost really easily. :p

Anne- you would just be fun to hang out with (drunk or sober..lol). I love exploring places I have never been, especially little coastal towns!

Go skydiving!

Then you could blog about that.

LOl, oh my....we are on the same page there! We should make a pact to go out this week somewhere...be it hiking, dancing, sky-diving or what-have-you. Routines are something that we just slip into & unless there is an external impetus to break that cycle, I guess, its all up to us.

Awwwwww....Dance in the kitchen, it's good for the soul! Turn the music up ridiculously loud on your morning commute and rock out on the highway....And then count days....the week-end is only 5 days away! Bless your little heart!

I rode a horse once...and an elephant once. If I closed my eyes I couldn't tell the difference...well, except the horse smelled better.

Barb, we all have those 'oh poor me' days...and sometimes they can be tough to get past. Do you know a place close by where you could go horseback riding? Or maybe just turn up the music real loud and dance all around the house while singing to your imaginary but adoring audience!

Chucky- The thought of skydiving terrifies me!

Singleton - I agree a pact is in order.

Rockdog - I rode an elephant once too...no really, I did.

Em- I think I am going to have to pull out the broom and have me a dance session this weekend!

It's perfectly fine to have a pity party once in a while.

Now is the time to make fun plans for the weekend. What are you going to do??

Even when we ride them wild horses sometimes its nice to just take a break - I only dance when I am drinking - shy in that way even though I can two step!

I hope your hands heal quick - next time you are doing clothes please give me a call - I will send mine over - just kidding!

Hope your Monday went quickly.

For me, as a teen, it was taking off on my bike and just riding as fast as I could, around the block a couple of times (since that's all the further my parents would let me wander, even as a teen).

I hope you find the chance to get out & expend some energy doing something that frees your creative spirit for a little while!

Oh, and thanks for the comments on my blog!

My bro told me that you were one cool gal. He was right. When I get that restless feeling, I just drink another beer!

Hey, we all feel "oh poor me" once in a while.

Personally I just wallow in the feeling until it's gone. Usually pretty quickly because I annoy the hell outta myself when I'm having a pity party

I haven't gone dancing in ages. You need a partner to do things like that=:(

Last Friday night I enjoyed being home alone for awhile, but then it just got to quiet. It almost drove me nuts!

I need to have a couple of belts before I dance too. I wish a bunch of us could get together someday and have some drinks, dance and maybe even karaoke! That would be a fun time.

sounds like you need a vacation or at least a night out dancing and having a wild time...go for it!
