Music

There is not a single genre of music that I am stuck in.

I love it all (almost)! I have an eclectic love of music...Sometimes there is a particular artist that has a sexy voice or the words of the song move me.

I love country music. Its great to swing dance and two -step.

I love alternative music. Much of the music, has the ability to make me think. People think I am weird, but I feel music...

I love rock. There is nothing in the world like a great rock 'n roll song to get you going.

I love Oldies! Just great music.

I have met so many people who are so closed minded. I always hear people say' "I hate ___________" whatever kind of music they think is horrible.

Most people fill that blank in with country music...BUT stop and listen to it for a while...YES there are songs that suck, and there are songs and artists I can't stand, but there is so much great music.

I dig it all with just one exception. I can't stand that Charlie Daniels crap that is racist ... hate it. The rap music that talks about killing and all the crap is something I wish would just leave the earth and never return. I like all kinds of music, I'll admit country use to turn me off until I aquired a VERY LARGE collection of it ... you're right most of it's pretty cool!

Spongy - rap is the one genre that I have a limited liking on. I like some of it for dance music...But I agree the killing, gang crap can disappear!

Girl,
I love all music but my oldest listens to techno and I want to shoot someone in the head. Everysong has the same annoying beat over and over and over. I think most of america is part time country and they don't even realize because it is so mainstream now. Good Post. Have a great weekend

I like some of all kinds of music. My family thinks I am strange because I know the words to some pretty strange songs. Some songs I like the words and some I like the beat. It all depends.

Me too love songs across genres, languages, eras...

I like most kinds of music, myself. Don't really care of Big & Rich in particular, but I DO like country music. Don't care for rap at all. Don't like Marilyn Manson and other groups that are almost scary with their fascination with death & destruction. I wind up more being able to mention groups that I don't like, than musical genres, but I'm pretty consistently turned off by rap. *wry smile*

My daughter got grumpy with me this morning when she caught me crying over a video of a guy singing opera in a clip from "Britain's Got Talent". His voice was incredible, though one wouldn't expect it from his attitude & appearance. He had all 3 of the judges (simon cowell included) absolutely stunned. His voice was beautiful enough to bring a person to tears. But my DD just doesn't understand how people can stand that type of music. *grin*

If it rocks me, I love it....It can be old, new, spooky, fast, slow, country, metallic, it doesn't matter.....if it rocks me, moves my soul or just my little toe....it's tonic!

I like a lot of stuff, and I have a special place in my heart for late 1800's - early 1900's music. O.K., so I'm a little unusual.
I like rock too, some rap, some country, etc.
I don't like offensive hateful lyrics. Can't stand techno/trance for more than ten minutes at a time. Also usually don't like bagpipes. It looks and sounds like a man is trying to kill an octopus with his bare hands. Hehe! Although I once heard a teenage boy play rock music on bagpipes and it was actually very cool.

Thank you so much for the visit. I too can't distil my love of music to simply one genre. Too confining and limiting. I'm all over the map. Feel free to stop by anytime.

I hate country music, too, although I Willie Nelson puts on a great show!

I could also fill in that blank with 'The Red Hot Chili Peppers'. That is one spazzy noisy overrated band. LOL.

And, do you mean oldies?? Or do you mean classic rock?? I worked an America show the other nite, and they said there was a difference, although they don't know what it is... But, they classify their music as classic rock:)

I love classic rock:)

whooo hooooo...looove your playlist!!!...I love all sorts of music too..well except theones that bwaang twooooo waang eeeewuuuung craaash crrooooo grooooan..kinda' like the rock that's gone berserk...metal rock I think that's cold..the ones with lyrics that go bleeding in your ears....I'd rather not listen to songs that are too sad...um'..wait...but sometimes I listen to them just as well when I want to be sad for no sad reason at all but just to be..um' sad..hee! hee!

I posted the questions already in my site....I dunno' if you'll like it...but if you'd rather not answer it's okay...

Hope you have a great weekend!

I like all of those - even some country. Even rap has a good one now and then. The only genre I really can't seem to get into is jazz.

I am very ecletic. I just hate polka. I don't like music that puts people down, but I do understand music of anger. On my playlist, I have some rap--I wouldn't put up NWA's F#@! the Police, because I know too many cops, but Straight Out of Compton speaks to me as I have seen urban blight and the rage is justified. Anger against the war or injustice is a theme for me. Tupac gets a lot of dirt, but he does a good song about women called Keep Your Head Up. I liked country, but I kept to my tastes: Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline until I got to know Baron who showed me a whole new side of country. I confess I have a hard time listening to some of the songs he shared with me now--it hurts. He liked Reba a lot; I saw you had her on your playlist. Oh good, you DO have Patsy Cline!

Ha! You sound just like me girl!
I love it all, but rap I could do without.

I remember when I discovered Alanis Morrisette (sp) it struck chords deep within me, and then I found Sarah McLachlan!
I am off to visit your other blogs :)) How do you do it? I have trouble keeping up with one!

I like all kinds of music too. I feel that I have given modern country music a fair trial and I just can't get into it. There are some songs that I think are good, but no full cds that I would buy.

Now, old time country? I love it!

I can listen to most rap except the the most hardcore stuff.

I also love old standards like Sinatra, Tonly Bennett and Dean Martin.

Even thought I'm not a country music fan I know a lot of people like it. Music is so subjective though, it's never fair to critisize people for their tastes. But, I do make fun of Rascal Flats though. LOL ;-)

yup- I'm with you..I like a little bit of everything. Depends on my mood, but one thing is for sure- music is an important part of my life. great post!

I don't see anything close-minded about saying "I hate _____ music." That is the beauty of music. You can love it or hate it and it doesn't mean you're close minded. It's about taste.

Me? I hate Creed. They suck donkey balls.

I have to admit to being one of those people. Granted there are a couple of exceptions, Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. I do kinda like Bluegrass though.

Seems like I read somewhere that there really are only two kings of music:

1. Good music

2. Bad Music
